Campaign to support the restoration of our residency program IMAGO International Artist Residency - in the village of Tsarimir, Bulgaria

In the night of June 26th, while we were in Sofia presenting the exhibition of the three international artists who participated in our residency during the month, a storm swirles over the village of Tsarimir, causing a fire in one of our two residential houses. Fortunately, the fire is noticed by several conscientious boys from the village who immediately call the fire-brigade. After 25-30 minutes two teams of firefighters arrive. Until then the house is burned down radically, it takes two hours to bring the fire under control. Fortunately the fire did not spread among the second house and the studios. The most important thing is that we were all in Sofia and no one was injured. Here are some photos of what happened….
The reconstruction of the house and the restart of the residency program will require at least 25,000 Bulgarian leva (at least 13,000 euros). The initial activities to overcome the situation have already started and we hope that in September we will be able to welcome the last group of residents for the year. Of course, in such a difficult moment all additional funds will be of great help to us, especially after the complicated 2020 during which covid-19 restricted all our activities.
